Editorial Principles

How ReturnLab writes calculator explanations, insight articles, and example calculations.

Numbers come first

ReturnLab explanations focus on values that can be checked: return rates, loss rates, principal, period, spending amount, and the resulting money figure.

When an article needs a calculation, we first check whether it can be reproduced with a public ReturnLab calculator. If it cannot, the internal calculation assumptions should be stated clearly.

Calculation is not a recommendation

ReturnLab does not recommend buying or selling any specific stock, crypto asset, fund, or financial product. Numbers are used for simulation and explanation.

When market topics are mentioned, the focus is on what the numbers mean under stated assumptions, not on predicting prices.

Localization should be natural, not literal

ReturnLab supports Korean, English, and Japanese. Each language should read naturally for its audience rather than mechanically translating the same sentence.

The core formula and numerical assumptions should remain consistent across languages.

Corrections

If a formula, displayed value, translation, or explanation is wrong, it should be corrected. Reports are easier to check when they include the page URL and input conditions.

Questions and corrections can be sent to contact@returnlab.net.
